I rant about things. Also, I'm bisexual.
ATTENTION ALL DOG OWNERS AND DOG LOVERS
DO NOT FEED YOUR DOG BUSY BONES!!!
See that adorable little fluff ball? His name was Gizmo, he was one of the happiest little pup pups that I have ever seen. He loved his family and every minute he cold spend with my mom.
One day, we gave him a busy bone as a treat. A few hours after eating it, he starting acting really odd. He wasn’t acting odd and barely reacted to anything.
We didn’t really think anything of it because he was a pretty odd little pup and we thought he just he had to poop or something. So we went to bed and everything like normal.
The next day, he was even worse. He didn’t move at all, and threw up everything he tried to eat or drink. My mom called the vet and they said to just let it go for the night because he was probably just a little ill.
Gizmo just kept getting worse and worse. He could barely life his head and laid around all day long. Finally, after being up with him since about 3 am, my mom brought him into the as soon as they opened vet and she told them about what was going on and they decided to do an X-Ray on him.
After the results came in, they noticed a large blockage in Giz’s intestines. They called my mom so she could bring him in for emergency surgery.
After surgery, the vet came out with a sample of what was blocking his intestines. As soon as my mom saw it, she knew exactly what it was.
The pieces he had chewed up and stuck together and turned into a paste like substance in his intestines.
They said they extracted as much as they could, but it was hard because he was only about 10 pounds and surgery is hard on little dogs. We picked him up from the vet a few hours later so he could have a chance to wake up. When we picked him up, he was still under the anesthesia and not very responsive. We still brought him home because it was either that or leave him at the vet overnight alone.
When we got home, all of my other animals got next to the kennel to see what was wrong.
About an hour after getting home, Gizmo passed away at only 3 years old.
I then wrote a very angry letter to Purina (the owners of Busy Bone) telling them what happened. I heard back the next day, and we started our claim.
They talked to Gizmo’s vet who told them is was definitely the Busy Bone that had caused his death. Purina paid us for the cost of the surgery just to shut us up and left us.
I am telling you this story as a warning, I know that Busy Bones are a popular treat to give dogs, but I am begging you
Please do not feed your dogs Busy Bones.
Gizmo’s life couldn’t be saved, but your dog still has a chance.
**I would like to note that we were not feeding him a cheap brand of dog food or treats. We fed him Blue Buffalo Wilderness, gave him all natural treats, even gave him fresh filtered water twice daily. He was not neglected in any way.
reblogging because the message is important and necessary but please to not support the fckh8 organization because even tho they claim to be all about “equality for all” that apparently doesnt apply to asexuals and pansexuals
reblogging for the above commentary
but also, as someone pointed out on my facebook, how come only $5 of the profits made from these t-shirt are going to charity? that doesn’t add up, especially when there have been teespring campaigns which donated all of the proceeds to Ferguson organizations.
it seems to me fckh8 is trying to profit off the appearance of being more actively anti-racist then they actually are and using Ferguson kids in the process.
That ^ is exactly what they’re doing.
Also they’re not actually a non-profit organization or charity. They’re a for-profit T-shirt company that scored an F by the BBB. They are absolutely trying to profit off of those children.
Just leaving this link here too. Fuck FCKH8.
reblogging for additional commentary!
“Tell me the story about how the Sun loved the Moon so much he died every night just to let her breath ” She asked
“Once during a time when the earth was simple, the Sun shone brighter than anything. The people were grateful and rejoiced every time the Sun shone. He brought them joy and warmth, he was even the source of their warmth.
But he was lonely, all by himself in the vast skies. He would look down at the people dancing in his radiance and wonder if he was simply destined to a life of solidarity. That was the price he paid for being the brightest, he reasoned.
Then there was the Moon. As the Sun grew weary and began to disappear, she would rise into the sky, flanked by millions of stars. Her radiance was a sad kind of beauty, one that went unnoticed as the people slept. The Stars watched her with wish fullness, hoping that one day they could get close enough so she wouldn’t feel so empty. But they couldn’t. The Moon was untouchable, surrounding herself with a blanket of darkness through the cold nights.
Until one day when the Sun was sliding out of the heavens, he caught a glimpse of her. She was peeking up, a rare side of her being exposed to the light. And while the Sune could shine, he knew the Moon could glow, and a faithful whisper trumped an arrogant shout any day.
So just as the Stars were wandering into the night, the Sun fell in love like a snowball hurding down a mountain. How he wished to see her move than the fleeting moments he shared with her at both dawn and dusk. But the Moon was untouchable. Uncurable. Unfreeable.
“Go,” she whispered to him one of those nights, her voice as sweet and sorrowful as the last light of morning. “Go and let me breathe, for you and I have decided fates. You illuminate the day, and I cast a glow one the night. We will never be. Our connection would go against what all the people believe, all they know” During the summer he would stay a little longer just in case she would change his mind. It was no use.
“Don’t you dare abandon your blessing of light for my darkness.” Those were the last words the Moon was strong enough to speak to the Sun,” I responded.
While life gets better for millions of gays, the number of homeless LGBT teens - many cast out by their religious families - quietly keeps growing.
This is actually a really, really well done article. long but absolutely worth the read. So glad that a magazine as big as Rolling Stone is publishing content saying, “Hey, people, we may be patting ourselves on the back about marriage equality these days but there are much bigger issues still being swept under the rug.”
This is my cat Smokey. Yesterday morning my boyfriends mom found her in the trash. When I saw her I thought she was dead. Her eye had been gauged out & she was bleeding from her mouth. She lay there motionless until I called her name & pet her. We rushed over to the animal emergency & she is suffering from head trauma, lung & spinal problems & a missing eye. She was beaten to near death by my boyfriend’s mom’s step brother. He has mental issues & we’ve tried for so long to get him out our home but never were successful due to another issue. I love Smokey so much, I’ve always viewed her as my child since I got her when she was a kitten. I went through very lonely times where I had no friends & she was always there for me & spending time with me. She’s been on my mind 24/7 since this tragedy occurred. All I want in my life more than anything is for her to live & be happy. She has such a unique personality & loves everything & everyone so much. I just can’t understand why anyone could do this to someone so innocent. I live with my boyfriend working full time & we’re getting evicted from my home because of this horrible monster who did this to my cat. Charges are currently pending & I will do everything in my willpower to make sure he gets what he deserves for what he’s done. Right now I need everyone’s help & support. Please reblog this so it can get around. To make donations & read more about what happened go to this link http://www.gofundme.com/e4lqbc
